The U.P. Streetdance Club

The U.P. Streetdance Club is a non-profit organization duly recognized by the University of the Philippines, Diliman. It was formed in 1997 by a group of students in order to provide a venue for creative expression. It also aims to supervise training in various forms and styles of streetdance.

Its pioneer members those students who were at that time taking up basic and advanced streetdance classes under Mr. Jerome Dimalanta who eventually became the Club director. The Club has performed in various activities such as Summer Fitness Xplosion at Splash Island, Taekwondo opening, Strit Indakan, U.P. Dancefest I and in the annual streetdance concert. Recently, they have performed outside of U.P. They were invited at The Westin Philippine Plaza and at the Cevini Hall in Ateneo. The Club taught the children of Bantay Bata as part of their outreach program.

At present, they have been planning other socio-civic programs to share. Their God-given talents to the other people and to reach out to them in their own little way. the Club continues to harness talents and skills, instill values of teamwork, discplinel and develop a critical eye for stage performance among its members.
